OTF-1200X-S-VTQ is a compact vertical quenching tube furnace with a 50 mm OD quartz tube, which is designed for quenching samples from temperatures ( Max. 1200°C) into a container with mineral or silicone oil to study material phase transitions and microstructures.  An air-tight flange with a sample drop fixture is installed on the top of the quartz tube, and the bottom of the quartz tube is open to the quenching media.  Sample can be dropped manually via the top hand wheel. 

SPECIFICATIONS

Furnace Structure

  • Split tube furnace design for tube swap. 
  • The bottom of the quartz tube is immersed in an SS304 container filled with quenching media. 
  • Top of the tube is sealed by an air-tight flange with a valve and a gas inlet. 
  • The sample or a crucible is hung to a releasing fixture via a metallic wire.  The sample will drop into the liquid container rapidly by rotating a handwheel.
  • The furnace can also be used for heating treatment under vacuum by adding a flange on the bottom ( remove the liquid container.)

  • 10 feet long 10-3 AWG heavy-duty UL-approved power cable is included.

  • RS-485 Communications Port.

Water and Oil chiller (optional)

  • For better quenching with less oxidation,  suggest using silicone oil as quenching media with recirculating cooling

Application Notes

Description
